Reservation Diminishment Trial Win

We helped a Tribal government client successfully resolve a century-old dispute with a local jurisdiction to recognize the Reservation-status of roughly 120,000 acres, including a sacred mountain.  The trial victory affirmed that the Tribe’s Treaty included a roughly 120,000 acre area within their Reservation, and subsequent congressional actions did not diminish those Reservation boundaries.  We served as trial counsel before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington, appellate counsel before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and appellate counsel before the United States Supreme Court where we achieved a denial of certiorari.
