Indigenous Sacred Sites Protection
In 2014, we helped a Tribal government hold a federal agency accountable for the destruction of cultural sites during a construction project, which resulted in significant additional cultural resources protections for the area, and a seven figure settlement fund for the procurement of culturally significant lands.
In 2025, we helped a Tribal government client settle a decade-long dispute with a mining company which resulted in the protection of monumental cultural sites from natural resource extraction activities, and the Tribe’s ownership of the lands where those monumental cultural sites are located.
In 2026, we assisted a Tribal government to oppose an energy development project that threatened the Tribe’s sacred sites, wildlife migratory routes, and food and medicine gathering places, which was heard by the Washington State Supreme Court.
