State Supreme Court Oral Advocacy

In 2014, we appeared as amicus curiae on behalf of the American Civil Liberties Union of Washington before the Washington Supreme Court, in a case involving an illegal search of a tribal member’s on-reservation home by non-tribal cops.  The case resulted in a bright-line rule that requires state or local police to honor tribal codified law enforcement procedures when conducting a search or seizure on tribal lands.
